UPCOMING COMMUNITY EVENTS
ABOUT US
The COVID-19 pandemic has had a major effect on our lives. Many of us were facing challenges stress, making many people and especially the older community isolated and lonely increasing stress and anxiety.

Hearing an elderly woman on a bus declaring to another how desperately lonely she was and how she couldn't cope with another lockdown. The woman said she wouldn't be taking the vaccine. She felt catching covid and dying was less painful than the loneliness.

The decision to set up the coffee morning came from trying  to alleviate loneliness in those over '50s

We were funded originally by businesses in Stirchley.

Oulsnams Estates, Oaktons, Birmingham Brewing, Attic Brew, DJF Fellows.

We were then awarded a funding grant by the N.N.S (neighbourhood network scheme). This has allowed us to organise a weekly coffee morning using the Cafe in the wonderful heritage building of Stirchley Baths.
We meet every week have a cuppa and chat and every few weeks we welcome speakers. Covering various subjects from Mental health and well-being to flower arranging. History of the Back to Backs to an introduction to computer use by Digikick.

We also held a very successful Community Afternoon Tea in celebration of H.M. Queen Elizabeth 11 Platinum Jubilee with honoured guest Deputy Lieutenant Professor Monder Ram OBE.
